meet bonnie

YSDR got a call from a shelter worker that said if someone didn't speak up for Bonnie, she was going to be put down so we took this pretty girl in.  You see, Bonnie was an owner surrender that said she pee'd on the floor so they didn't want her any more.  Bonnie was so obese that we thought she might be pregnant but exploratory surgery showed that she has cancer of the spleen.  It is self contained so with a spleenectomy, Bonnie has a great chance at life. She is such a sweet girl and her foster parent loves her.  She is going to have surgery on Wed. April 14 to have her cancerous spleen removed.  We have an estimate of her surgery cost that will be between $875 to $900.  Can you please help us to help Bonnie get well?  All donations are tax deductible so please donate if you can.

Thank you
The staff at YSDR

Update April 20, 2010

Bonnie's results are in.  The tumors on her spleen were benign and she has been adopted by a loving person.  Thank you all that made this possible.

Bonnie has had her surgery and is doing well so far.  We are waiting for the results of her splenectomy histopathology results to come back. Thank you for your donations and prayers

A big thanks and hug to Bonnie's surgeon,

Dr Rick Powell for his willingness to work with rescue, he made it possible for us to save little Bonnie.
